Institute for Digital Democracy

NPO in support of sustainable development

Who We Are

The sensible use of the Internet can enable the dissemination of trustworthy knowledge and information as well as facilitate social collaboration across societies. These activities provide the basis for solutions to many of the problems arising from unsustainable development.

However, the exploitation of the Internet by the mainstream service providers have failed to meet these aspirations and have instead created a digital environment where profiling data of individuals are surreptitiously obtained through surveillance technologies in order to facilitate psychological and ideological exploitation for commercial gain.

The IDD is a Research and Development organization supporting the socially beneficial creation and application of digital technologies on the Internet.

Mission Statement

The promotion, support, enablement and defence of participative democracy for every individual.

A DEMOCRACY IS MORE THAN A FORM OF GOVERNMENT; IT IS PRIMARILY A MODE OF ASSOCIATED LIVING, OF CONJOINT COMMUNICATED EXPERIENCE.

Research Objectives

Promote the right of all individuals to seek, receive and impart information and ideas of all kinds through the Internet and other digital media channels.
